Simple Ways to Keep Your Card Secure

Please be advised that a card PIN may NOT be required for some overseas purchases, depending on the merchant’s requirements.

To avoid the risk of card loss or misuse:

  1. Always stay vigilant when travelling to ensure your card is safe and secure.
  2. Do not keep your card in the overhead compartment while on a flight.
  3. Always keep your card IN SIGHT while travelling. Do not leave your belongings unattended.
  4. At crowded place, beware of pickpockets or strangers bumping into you for no apparent reason.
  5. Create a unique card PIN and memorise it. Never share your PIN with anyone.
  6. IMMEDIATELY report to the Bank if you receive a Public Bank in-app notification or SMS alert for a transaction that you did not recognise or perform.
  7. If your card is lost, stolen, or compromised, report it to the Bank through any of the following channels:
    1. Call the telephone number on the back of your card.
    2. Click on “DEACTIVATE/CANCEL CARD” via the PBe homepage, or go to “Cards” in the MyPB mobile app and search for “DEACTIVATE/CANCEL CARD” to self-deactivate your card.
    3. Visit the PBe website or mobile app to activate the Kill Switch feature, which allows you to disable your PBe User ID, ATM/debit/credit/commercial/business cards, and deposit accounts from a single access point.
    4. Refer to the Contact page on the Public Bank website if in doubt.

Take extra precautions to protect your card while travelling!
